Most functional medicine practices don’t specialize in infertility. And it shows. Dr. Adrienne Wei uses two systems — functional medicine and Chinese medicine together — to find the root pattern a single-lens approach misses.
Why Most Functional Medicine Approaches Fall Short
Most functional medicine practices don’t specialize in infertility. Very often, they run incomplete labs, chase every out-of-range result with a supplement, or require thousands up front for expensive testing — all while ignoring what makes you unique.
In your Practically Fertile® Strategy Session, Dr. Adrienne Wei starts with you. She dives into your health history, symptoms, cycle, and labs through two systems instead of one — functional medicine and Chinese medicine together — to find the root pattern a single-lens approach misses.
You walk away with a clear understanding of your Fertility Pattern, and a specific roadmap of the nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle priorities that actually move the needle — so you can stop spinning your wheels.
Then your Progress Check-In pairs you with your Fertility Support Coach, to troubleshoot and adjust as you put the plan into motion.
Two sessions. $375.
You’ve already spent more than that on a plan that was never built for you. This time, start with the one that is.
MEET ADRIENNE
Most practitioners see you through one lens. I was trained to use two — and that changes everything about what I can find, and what I can fix.
I know what it feels like to be confused, overwhelmed with advice and information, and scared that you may not get to experience motherhood. That feeling is why I chose to dedicate my entire career to fertility.
It brings me joy knowing that every day, I help create life and play a part in making someone’s dream of parenthood come true.
Studying Chinese medicine and acupuncture was a return to my roots. I was born in China, and my mother was a Chinese medicine doctor. She now practices in Charlotte and still helps around the office. Growing up, I was exposed to medicine early. I remember drinking herbs that were very strong smelling whenever I got sick, but despite the smell, they always worked.
I never imagined I would pursue Chinese medicine as a career until I needed acupuncture and herbology myself as an adult. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and I didn’t want to take birth control pills because they felt like a Band Aid rather than a solution. I also did not understand much about the condition because my doctor at the time simply said, “There is nothing to do, just ride it out.” Despite the struggles, Chinese medicine worked for me.
That experience clarified my mission to support others, especially women. I wanted to help them navigate their challenges and reach their goals with less stress, less anxiety, and less heartache.
I am honored to have the chance to support you. I know we will navigate your journey step by step. I do not believe in infertility. I believe that all women are inherently fertile and that you have the power to take action, take charge, and become pregnant.

MEET TARA
When I trying to conceive I was diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis. I was devastated without an understanding of what this meant for my body and the possibility of pregnancy seemed out of reach. I wasn’t given many alternatives aside from ovulatory medications and IUI. Eventually, after another obstacle, male factor infertility entered the discussion and we were told that IVF was our only option.
I began reaching other options, other modalities, there had to be another way! It was then that I discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine! I dove straight into learning the ins and outs of TCM and how this traditional medicine didn’t view my PCOS and endometriosis the same way I was taught to view it. Instead with TCM I was able to approach my PCOS and Endometriosis as symptoms of an underlying and treatable condition.
TCM and the Practically Fertile® Methodology developed by Dr. Wei lead me to two successful pregnancies, restored my cycles and reversed my PCOS.
I was thrilled to have the opportunity to become certified in the methodology that I believed in and trusted in that had its foundations rooting in TCM. That’s what brought me here today, a fertility coach able to help other women on the same journey. And to bring hope and guidance to that same journey that no longer needs to feel impossible!

What’s the difference between the free Discovery Call and the Strategy Session?
The free Discovery Call is a quick conversation to see if this is the right fit and answer any questions — no cost, no commitment. The Strategy Session is the actual working appointment where Dr. Wei builds your personalized Fertility Pattern roadmap; it’s $375 and part of a two-session package with your Fertility Support Coach.
Why can’t I just book the Strategy Session directly?
Because it’s part of a two-session package (Strategy Session + Coach Check-In), you’ll purchase the package first, then choose your appointment time. This keeps everything — your sessions, your coach follow-up, your invoice — set up correctly from the start.
I’m not ready to pay yet — can I just ask a few questions first?
Yes — that’s exactly what the free Discovery Call is for. No pressure, no obligation.
What actually happens in the $375 Strategy Session?
Dr. Wei reviews your health history, cycle, symptoms, and any labs you’ve already had through two lenses — functional medicine and Chinese medicine — in one session. You leave with a named Fertility Pattern and a specific roadmap: which nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle changes actually matter for your case, and which ones you can stop worrying about.
Do I need to have labs done first?
No. If you already have labs (from your OB, RE, or elsewhere), bring them — we’ll review them as part of your session. If you don’t, that’s fine too; Dr. Wei will tell you what’s worth testing based on your pattern instead of running a generic panel.
What’s the difference between this and what my OB/RE already told me?
Most OBs and REs run standard panels and flag anything outside “normal,” but don’t have time to explain what your specific combination of results means, or connect it to your cycle and symptoms. Functional medicine plus Chinese medicine looks at the whole pattern — not just isolated numbers — which is often where the real answer is hiding.
Is $375 covered by insurance or FSA/HSA?
The Strategy Session isn’t billed to insurance, but it’s FSA/HSA-eligible as a healthcare expense.
What if I want to keep working with an RE for IVF/IUI at the same time?
Many patients do both. The Strategy Session and ongoing support are designed to work alongside your reproductive endocrinologist, not replace them.
How soon can I get an appointment?
Most patients get their Strategy Session within one week of booking.
Do I have to come to Charlotte in person?
No. The Functional Medicine Discovery Call and Strategy Session are both done virtually over Zoom, so you can work with Dr. Wei from anywhere. Many of our fertility patients join us from outside North Carolina.
What if I’ve already tried functional medicine and it didn’t work?
That’s actually who this is built for. Most functional medicine misses the Chinese medicine layer — the pattern behind why your labs look the way they do. Combining both is what surfaces what a single-lens approach missed the first time.
